At long last Swiss based artists Jojakim Cortis & Adrian Sonderegger will release a monograph of their series, Icons. Double Take: The World's Most Iconic Photographs Meticulously Re-created in Miniature
presents forty astonishingly accurate reconstructions of iconic photographs - ranging from the earliest known to the world's most expensive.

The images have been painstakingly re-created in miniature by Cortis & Sonderegger.  Inspired by the record auction price of $4.3 million set by Andreas Gursky's 'Rhein II" in 2011, the duo set themselves a challenge: could they reconstruct that image in their Zurich studio?  The photograph they created from a miniature diorama of Rhein II was a success and became the starting point for a larger personal project: a series of photographs of these miniature re-creations the duo made by hand, imitating iconic photographs that captured pivotal historical events.

A technical tour de force, 'Double Take' asks of image making: can the image ever be truly trusted?  The book includes images illustrating their reconstruction process, along with a supporting essay and an in-depth interview with the photographers.

The artists will signing copies of their book on Saturday 19th May from 14:00 - 15:00 in the East Wing booth (F05, 1st floor Somerset House), and will be in discussion with Brett Rogers on Sunday 12:00 - 13:00, followed by an additional book signing with Thames and Hudson.
