East Wing is pleased to announce the representation of Egyptian artist, Rehab Eldalil.

Rehab Eldalil is a documentary photographer and visual storyteller. She is currently based in Cairo, Egypt where she was born.  In her work, Eldalil seeks to challenge the traditional documentary framework, developing new methods of collaboration with her subjects inviting them to become part of the creative process. She focuses on broad themes of identity, explored through participatory creative practices. Eldalil embraces the fluidity of collaborative mediums, using photography to develop layered and comprehensive visual narratives, challenging the exoticism of communities, including her own as an African, Arabic and Hijabi woman.

In 2022 Eldalil was the recipient of the Premi  Mediterrani, Albert Camus Award, the World Press Open Format/Africa Award and the Fotoevidence W Award.  Her book; The Longing of the Stranger Whose Path Has Been Broken is published by FotoEvidence and will be released in early 2023.
