The Merge Wins the Fohanna Grant

Danish Photographer's Collective of Sara Galbiati, Peter Helles Eriksen and Tobias Selnaes Markussen better known as Sara,Peter & Tobias have been awarded the Forhanna Grant to assist in the development of their next project The merge.  The project will be exhibited at the BredaPhoto festival in 2018 in the Netherlands.

The merge is an in-depth investigation of artificial intelligence and robotics and aims to explore and visually interpret the the possibility that we are living inside a simulation.  Could it be that our world is a construct, a created illusion?  

East Wing toured the previous project, PHENOMENA by Sara, Peter and Tobias at Unseen Amsterdam, in Marfa Texas during the Marfa Film Festival & also as part of our presentation at Photofairs: San Francisco earlier this year and promoted the accompanying book published by André Frère Éditions.

62 international photographer applied for the 7,500 euro grant.  The Forhanna Grant is supported by Forhanna in Collaboration with the BredaPhoto international festival. The merge will be presented at the festival from 5 September to 21 October 2018.

Forhana is a not-for-profit production house.  it supports socially committed documentary projects of high visual quality and seeks to stimulate public debate.  It invests in new projects and offers intensive support to help makers get the full potential out of their project.
